Kaelble was founded as repair shop for tannery machines in 1884. Later, machines were made. The first lorry was produced in 1907. The first wheeled tractor was developed in 1925. Kaelble manufactured wheeled tractors for the Reichsbahn beginning in 1933. The Luftwaffe received some Kaelble wheeled tractors, too.
