The Krupp L 2 H 43 and 143 were also designated l. gl. Lkw. (o) by the Wehrmacht. The Fu. Mastkw. (Kfz. 68) was, besides other units, used by directional-radio units.

The Fu. Mastkw. (Kfz. 68) mit Einheitsfahrgestell für l. Lkw. - with standard chassis for light lorry - replaced the older constructions beginning in 1937. The superstructure was similar but closed on all sides.

Because serial production of the Einheitsfahrgestells für l. Lkw. was stopped in 1940, another sulution had to be found. Therefore, the Fu. Mastkw. (Kfz. 68) was made based on the  m. gl. Lkw. (o) - medium cross-country lorry (commercial) - Opel Blitz 3,6-6700 A with the Einheitskoffer - standard box body - of the Heer, not to be confused with the LC-Koffer of the Luftwaffe.
