Vickers-Armstrongs Ltd.

The roots of the Vickers-Armstrongs Ltd. - which arose from the merger of the Vickers Ltd. with the Sir W. G. Armstrong-Whitworth & Co. Ltd. in 1927 - goes back to the year 1828. Mainly machines and armaments were manufactured. During World War II, armoured vehicles were made besides guns and small arms. Vickers developed the Universal Carrier. But this was manufactured by several other companies under license.
