The new Opel Blitz 3.5-36 was presented in mid 1936. It still had the 3.5 litres engine of the predecesser model. Commencing in 1937, the new 3.6 litres engine with an output of 75 HP was used. For vehicles made for the Wehrmacht, the engine was throttled for protection to 68 HP. In the image, one can distinguish the chassis of the Opel Blitz 3.6-36 S with the later used rims. Until the last production model of 1944, several changes were made. Among these are the introduction of the Nachtmarschgerät, smaller headlights, omitted brand sign on the radiator grille, a new driver’s cab made of mixed materials with a more bulged roof, omitted mudguards of the rear wheels and simple steps for entering the driver’s cab.
