The FAUN L 400 D 66 was manufactured beginning in 1935. It was propelled by a 110 HP Deutz diesel engine. Tippers made for the Wehrmacht (type L 400 KWH) were propelled by a 85 HP Maybach D 12 E petrol engine. The illustrated vehicle is an early production model with vertical radiator grille.

A further vehicle of the same type - likewise equiped with the open standard driver’s cab of the Wehrmacht. FAUN produced only small numbers of items and it seems that the Wehrmacht was a good customer.
