Only two exemplars of the four-axle long-distance traffic lorry FAUN L 1500 D 587 were made in 1938. The eight-cylinder Deutz diesel engine had a power of 200 HP. A payload of 14.7 tons could be carried by a dead weight of 10.3 tons. During war, the exemplar of the Zwickau based haulage firm Schütze was used for long-distance transports in the German Reich and the occupied territories. It survived the war.
