The l. gl. Pkw. as Kfz. 2 had an angular rear and only three doors. The spare wheel was stored in the stowage box at the rear. There were three variants: The Nachrichtenkraftwagen - signals motor vehicle - (Kfz. 2), the Funkkraftwagen - radio motor vehicle - (Kfz. 2) and the kleine Instandsetzungskraftwagen - small maintenance motor vehicle - (Kfz. 2/40). The Funkkraftwagen (Kfz. 2) is identifiable by the antenna base on the left rear side of the vehicle – which was protected by a wrapper in this photo.

The Kfz. 2 had only one door in the right side – which can be clearly seen in this photo. The Funkkraftwagen (Kfz. 2) was equipped with a Tornisterfunkgerät b 1 or f. The radio and the battery case are clearly visible. Looks like the spare wheel had been stored on the rear box to create more space for private baggage. Most probably, the battle situation is posed. The radio operator was armed with a captured Russian Tokarev semi-automatic rifle.
