Only 237 exemplars of the GAZ 05-193 staff-bus were made from 1936 to 1943. It was based on the three-axle lorry GAZ-AAA. There was a version with standard omnibus superstructure besides the illustrated radio bus.
This GAZ 05-193 with standard omnibus superstructure was in use by the Wehrmacht. It was photographed on the road betwen Briansk and Orel on 10th August 1943.
