Omnibuses based on the MAN type ML 4500 S chassis were rare. The omnibusses with the normal 4,600 mm wheelbase were designated MAN type ML while the MAN type MPL had a wheelbase of 5,700 mm and a 120 HP engine. The illustrated Großeinsatzwagen – large scale operation vehicle – of the German Red Cross was a MAN type ML.
