The MAN type E 1 was introduced in 1935. It had a payload of 2.5 tons. The new slightly angular radiator grille was used on this type for the first time. The payload was increased to 2.75 tons in 1937 and the type designation was changed to MAN type E 2. The overhanging roof of the driver’s cab was typical for the E 1 / E 2. In 1939, the type was renamed to E 3000.
