In 1927, an improved model of the Krupp L 3, which was introduced in 1926, was presented. It differed by the flat radiator grille from the initial model. The L 3 was propelled by a 50 HP, later 55 HP, petrol engine. The vehicle had a high chassis frame. The model with low frame was designated L 3 N. This Krupp L 3 of the Wehrmacht was most probably procured by the Reichswehr. The segment radiator and the special bumper points to this conclusion.

This Krupp L 3 of the Reichswehr was used as leichter Funkkraftwagen - light radio van. Note the mechanism to adjust the radio mast. The photo was made in 1932.

A further leichter Funkkraftwagen based on a Krupp L 3 chassis. The illustrated vehicle in the upper photo had a 17 m expandable radio mast on the right side of the body while the vehicle in the lower image had a 10 m mast on the backside of the body. (Image from D 937/1)
