The Metallwerke Frankenberg /Sachsen were founded as supplier for DKW in 1923. In 1927, the first three-wheeler commercial car was manufactured. The range of the offer was extended quickly. In 1933, the company was shifted to Hainichen and in 1934 it was renamed to Framo-Werke GmbH. Likewise in 1933, the first three-wheeler passenger car was offered. Beginning in 1934, four-wheel delivery vans were offered.
