The le. Zgkw. 1t (Sd. Kfz. 10) Ausf. A was manufactured in series beginning in 1938. It was developed as towing vehicle for light loads like the 3.7 cm Pak. Note the road wheels of the first series and the wheel hub of the driving wheel.

In mid 1940, the le. Zgkw. 1t got a strengthened rear to increase the towing capacity. The arrangement of the strengthened rear of the Ausf. B of the le. Zgkw. 1t is clearly visible in this photo. An additional air pressure tank was attached to some vehicles for towing loads with air brake. The air pressure tank was attached on the rear of the vehicle.

Vehicles of anti tank units – which were equipped with the 5 cm Pak 38 – often had special mountings for the ammunition boxes of the 5 cm Pak 38 on the mudguards. The equipment set was designated as Satz Befestigungsvorrichtungen für Mun. Kasten und Zubehör für Pak. 38 auf Sd. Kfz. 10.
