The improved and simplified Ausf. B of the le. SPW (Sd. Kfz. 250) was made from about July 1943 to March 1945. The number of main armour plates could be reduced from 19 to 9. The interior of the vehicle could be enlarged, too. Large equipment stowage bins – which also served as mud guards – were fitted to each side.
