The leichter Munitionspanzerwagen (Sd. Kfz. 250/6) – a small armoured ammunition carrier – replaced the Sd. Kfz. 252 of the Sturmgeschütz batteries beginning in 1942. This variant was replaced in the Sturmgeschütz batteries by lorries with the K.St.N. 446a from November 1942.

According to the secret D 97/1+ manual from July 1943, there were four variants (A to D) of the Sd. Kfz. 250/6. Version A could carry 70 rounds for the 7.5 cm StuK L/24 while version B could carry 60 rounds for the 7.5 cm StuK L/43 or L/48. No information could be found on the versions C & D.
