The all-wheel driven Mercedes-Benz type L 3000 A was made from 1940 to 1942. The vehicle differed from the standard model by its higher construction. The all-wheel driven variant was rather rare.

Facing forward, the differential gear of the front axle was arranged on the left side – contrary to the Opel Blitz 3t A. The shovel and the pickaxe - which were stored on the mudguards – and the massive wheel hubs of the front axle were further distinctive features to the standard model.
