There were two versions of the Flakmesstruppkraftwagen (Kfz. 74) mit Fahrgestell des m. gl. Lkw. (o) – anti aircraft survey party motor vehicle (Kfz. 74) on chassis of the medium cross-country lorry (commercial) – which differed only by the stored equipment. An Em 4m R (H) rangefinder and additional equipment of the Kommandogerät 36 were stored on the Flakmesstruppkraftwagen I (Kfz. 74). The Kommandogerät 36 itself was transported with a trailed Sd. Ah. 104.

In contrast, an Em 4m R (H) 34 respectively 36 was transported with the Flakmesstruppkraft- wagen II (Kfz. 74). The appropriate Kommandohilfsgerät 35 was transported with a trailed Sd. Ah. 53. The Flakmesstruppkraftwagen (Kfz. 74) had a closed driver’s cab but an open platform. These vehicles were exclusively used by the Luftwaffe.

The placement of the Em 4m R (H) is clearly visible on this Flakmesstruppkraftwagen I (Kfz. 74). The rangefinder was stored in the lower box which was mounted on a rail on the platform. The Berichtigungsgerät zum Em 4m R (H) - correction device for the rangefinder - was stored in the upper transportation box.
