Deutsche Last-Automobil-Fabrik AG (DAAG)

The Deutsche Last-Automobil-Fabrik AGDAAG in short – was founded in Ratingen near Düsseldorf in the year 1910. Besides lorries and buses, municipal vehicles and police vehicles were made. During World War I, lorries with 3.5, 4 and 5 tons payload were manufactured. These lorries were the base of the offer after the war. At the beginning of the 1920s, high-speed lorries with 2, 2.5 and 3 tons payload were added to the offer. A large customer for high-speed lorries and buses was the Deutsche Reichspost (German postal service). Towards the end of the 1920s, DAAG got into financial difficulties. In 1929, DAAG was taken over by the Fried. Krupp AG. One year later, the work was closed. The production of replacement parts was ensured by Krupp for 10 years.
