One of the most common variants based on the Büssing-NAG G 31 was the leichter Funkkraftwagen (Kfz. 61) mit Fahrgestell des l. gl. Lkw. (o) – light radio motor vehicle (Kfz. 61) with the chassis of the light cross-country lorry (commercial). The Peilkraftwagen – bearing motor vehicle – (Kfz. 61) could not be differentiated outwardly, it differed only by the carried along equipment. The arrangement of the stowage compartments was a bit different in the case of early vehicles.
