Büssing-NAG Type 550 / 650

The Büssing-NAG types 550 and 650 were the successor models of the 5.5 tons and 6.5 tons models of the type 502. The type 550 was manufactured from 1935 to 1937 and the type 650 from 1935 to 1939.

The type 550 was manufactured with seven different wheelbases, the type 650 with five. The illustrated vehicle had a more modern driver’s cab but the old radiator grille.

This Büssing-NAG type 650 had the newly designed radiator grille with the Büssing-Spider. The type 550’s and 650’s main difference was their payload of 5.5 tons resp. 6.5 tons.

Most probably in 1941, some heavy Büssing-NAG type 650 lorries of the year of construction 1939/40 of the Reichsbahn were converted to rail-lorries.
