Altogether 1,898 exemplars of the Adler type 12 N – 3 G Kübelwagen were made from 1933 to 1935. It was propelled by a six-cylinder, 60 HP row engine.

The car body of this Adler type 12 N – 3 G corresponds to the Gefechtskraftwagen - combat motor-vehicle - (Kfz. 18). These variant had two seats, a towing hook and a little load platform which could be covered with a tarpaulin.

There were mountings for motorcycle spare wheels on the sides of the Gefechtskraftwagen (Kfz. 18). Further motorcycle spare parts, ammunition and other items of equimpent were carried along on the platform.
