The heavy lorry series Renault VT for a payload of 12 tons was introduced in 1932. It was propelled by either six-cylinder petrol (VT6 AC) or six-cylinder diesel (VD6 DC) engines which were improved during the production period. In 1936, the VT-series was replaced by the Renault AFKD COE lorry.

This Renault VT6 workshop lorry was photographed on the eastern front in 1941. It was towed by a captured Voroshilovetz tracked tractor. Such heavy duty lorries were in no way suitable for the road conditions in Russia.
