Matford V8-F917WS & V8-F997WS

About 1,200 exemplars of the Matford F 917 WS for a payload of 4.5 tons were manufactured for the French army until the German invasion of France. During the occupation time, this model was manufactured for the Wehrmacht in large quantities. The photo was taken on 24th December 1941.

Beginning in 1941, the improved model Matford F 997 WS was made. It had a stronger V8 engine. However, the troop criticized the quality and reliability of the Matford lorries.
