Citroen Type 45 U

From 1941 to 1944, approximately 18,500 exemplars of the Citroen Type 45 U were made for the Wehrmacht. It proved quite well.

This Citroen Type 45 U drove through the mud of the east front. It had a payload of 3.5 tons and did not take badly to be overloaded.

There were no production-line variants of the Citroen type 45 U with three axles. But in Europe, there were companies which converted two-axle lorries to three-axle lorries with increased payload. This three-axle tank lorry was based on a Citroen type 45 U.
