Camions Bernard

Bernard was founded as SA des Bennes Basculantes E. Bernard in Arcueil near Paris in 1923. At the beginning, a lorry with a payload of 2 tons was manufactured. Busses were made beginning in 1926. In 1929, the company was renamed to Camions Bernard. Production of own developed engines started the same year. In 1932, a lorry with a payload of 6.5 tons was introduced. Beginning in 1935, a 15 ton lorry with three axles was made. The French army procured some tank transporters on this chassis. Production was continued in smaller numbers for the Wehrmacht.
