1,485 vehicles of the ordered 4,160 were delivered until June 1940. A large parte of these vehicles were taken over by the Wehrmacht, later. Production was continued under German direction. Contrary to the civilian model GDR7, the GDRA had a payload of 5 tons and was propelled by a petrol engine.
