The Austro-Fiat type FD 6 had a payload of 5 tons and was propelled by a 100 HP diesel engine. Due to the specifications of the Schell-Plan, it was replaced by the 4.5 ton model 4 D 90.

The Austro-Fiat FD 6 shown in the photo above was photographed in Luxembourg while the the illustrated vehicle was photographed on the coast road near Landemer in May 1943.

This Austro-Fiat FD 6 with box body is most probably a formerly civilian vehicle. The unit sign of this Luftwaffe unit could not be identified until now.
