From November 1942 to Mai 1943, 275 exemplars of the 7,5 cm Pak 40/3 auf Gw. 38 (t) Marder III (Sd. Kfz. 138) on chassis of the Ausführung H and K (15 vehicles) were made. Further 336 vehicles of the Ausführung H were converted based on older Panzerkampfwagen 38 (t) chassis from November 1942 to September 1943. Beginning in Mai 1943, the improved Ausführung M was made based on chassis of the Ausführung K and M. Until May 1944, 941 vehicles were delivered. The Marder III - marten III - was an effective self propelled anti tank gun. Especially the chassis worked in the best way.
