The Jagdpanzer 38 - hunting tank 38 - (Sd. Kfz. 138/2) was developed in a short time from components of the Panzerkampfwagen 38 (t) beginning late in 1943. Already in March 1944, the first three serial vehicles were finished. Until May 1945, more than 2,800 vehicles were made. The Jagdpanzer 38 was a well developed light hunting tank.
